Steps in the Discipleship Process

 

 

Shine/Awareness

  • Believers display the light and love of Jesus Christ in everyday life.

  • Non-Christians become aware of Jesus Christ through our lives.

Befriend/Friendship

  • Believers intentionally befriend spiritually lost people.

  • Non-Christians begin to see Jesus through genuine  friendships with Christians in our church.

Invite/Discover

  • Believers invite non-Christian friends to worship services, ministries, or events in the church, where they can begin to discover Jesus Christ.

  • Non-Christians accept a personal invitation to attend a worship service, ministry or event in the church, where they can begin to discover Jesus Christ.

Host/Engage

  • Believers are warm, friendly hosts to guests of our church.

  • Guests engage by regularly attending worship services, ministries or events in the church.

Love/Belong

  • Believers in our church share their lives by loving others in a small group.

  • New group members experience love and belonging as they become part of a small group.

   

Adopt/Commit

  • Believers in our church adopt as family members those who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and church membership.

  • People become part of our family as they fully commit their lives to Jesus Christ. believer's baptism and church membership.

Serve/Serve

  • Believers joyfully advance the kingdom of God by serving in ministry with others.

  • Non-Christians and nominal Christians begin experiencing the joy of serving God with others.

Disciple/Grow

  • Maturing believers help others to become fully devoted followers of Christ through one-on-one discipleship.

  • Believers grow in their relationship with Jesus by joyfully practicing the spiritual disciplines of the Christian life.

Equip/Lead

  • Christian leaders in the church intentionally equip the next generation of Christian leaders.

  • Believers move from personally growing in Christ to becoming a leader for Christ in the church.

Release/Launch

  • The church selflessly and joyfully releases fellow Christians to follow God's dream to change the world.

  • Mature believers follow God's calling to influence the world for Christ, wherever that calling may take them.
